Hey guys.

I downloaded the Server 03 trial from MS to use it, well, as an OS on my server. I just installed it last night and setup went very smoothly.

Here's a problem though. It doesn't want to read CD-ROMs. If I put one in the drive, it hangs the system, no matter what the CD is. Any advice?

Thanks!

Is your CD drive working correctly? Sometimes a bad disk can cause the system to hang, just yesterday I had a game disk that made my laptop hang.

Yeah, it was working just fine yesterday in XP MCE. It works fine too, outside of Server 03.

And it isn't just one disk. It took at least 4 tries to get my iTunes+iPod CD to work, and I still haven't got my Ultima Online CD to work.

Try uninstalling the drive in device manager and reinstalling it.

Well, it seems to be working better now after uninstalling and rebooting. Thanks, Andy.

It's still very picky though. I had to explore the D: drive, then do a Run-As on setup.exe on the CD, even though Im on the Administrator account.

Oh well, as long as it works, :?
