One of these is coming to my city next month. Cost of attendance is only $100, a price I can afford. I wonder if they allow underage people to go? I'm only 17 at the moment, and I would love to hear some new things about Visual Basic 2008, Windows Azure, etc, as well as get a Windows 7 Beta 1 DVD in the mail!

Should I give it a try? There doesn't seem be any age limit mentioned.

Only $100? That is affordable, the cheapest MSN subscription is $700. Hopefully they do allow you to go because 1)you'll get Windows 7 Beta 1, and 2)You'll get a chance to get free stuff such as an MSDN subscription!

It's so exciting, but the MDC will come to my city in February 19 and that's the last location for the MDC...

I'd love to go if there was only closer to me, but the closest is like 4 hours away :(

I am strongly considering taking a day off from school and actually going.

After all, the hotel it's being hosted at is only an hour away, thanks to public transportation.

Might take pictures!

Since you have the cash, and it's only an hour away, you should definitely go for it. Seize the opportunity. The public transportation part sounds like a bummer, but sometimes you gotta pay your dues!

Hmmm... Payment requires a credit card. Means that I will have to borrow my parents' one, but for those who have attended one of these events: How do they identify people who are attending? Do you have to bring identification with you or something like that?

Because, since I have to pay with a credit card, it means that I must use my father's name. And of course, my father is not attending the event.

I believe in the US, you can own a credit card when you're 14 but I'm not sure...

See if you can get your hands on a credit card linked to a debit account eg Visa debit or a prepaid credit card where you top up money when you please

According to ACA, even a cat can own an ANZ debit card...
I'd relax a little, as long as you've payed to get in, chances are they won't care what age you are.
Well, within reason, your not 10 are you?
