Hi, I would like to boot off my Windows DVD, which is currently placed in the DVD Drive.

My D4600i has 2 Optical Drives: CD as Secondary Primary and DVD as Secondary Slave.

I've tried turning off the Secondary Primary in BIOS, but the computer does not boot off the DVD.

I could rewire the drives temporarily, but I'd rather not.

Anyone know of what I should do, since the CD drive obviously isn't going to allow the system to boot off the DVD. :(

The boot device is:

/ IDE CD-ROM Drive
/ Hard Drive
Floppy Drive

I'm guessing the IDE CD-ROM Drive is the non-dvd drive?

Why not switch them and leave them as they are.

DVD stations can also read CD's and if you're DVD is also an writer (very cheap these days) they can also write CD's.

So actually, no CD-drive is neccessary.

And make sure that in the BIOS the CD/DVD drive is before the harddisk and that the computer can even boot from DVD.
