How to add a hard disk drive to Toshiba T1200 laptop computer? It's really old machine, but it had a 3.5" hard drive inside (it has been removed).
What type of HDD?
Where to plug?
What is a pin-out of the connector?

You didn't say whether you had the HDD or not. This site may be of use to identifying what HDD you are looking for

Where it goes, there's probably a bit where you can reveal the HDD compartment. It may be taking the back/front off and there you go.

I found a connector, which:
- Is not used
- Is not a modem connector
- Is not 2nd FDD connector
- Is placed on separate card plugged into mainboard, which seems to be a HDD controller.

It has 26 pins, 2x13.

I don't have a hard drive, I don't have a ribbon cable, but I can make a cable (this connector to IDE or MFM).

Thats most likely it. The T1200 has a HDD controller separate, so yes.

It might be an IDE, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Have a try, or even if you or someone can find it the original HDD specs.

I found something about 26-pin drives:
http://www.netmagic.net/~clare/gbother/messages/1091.html
It's not an IDE, it's more compatible with ST412/506, but in ST interface R/W and Head Sel. lines are divided.

How to connect a normal FDD to this computer? There is a strange FDD connector, it has also 26 pins.
How to run a small HARD RAM in this computer. I have enabled it in Setup, how to make it visible by DOS? VDISK in DOS 3.3 tells me, that I don't have EMS.
