I'm probably the only Mothers fan here, but
their drummer, Jimmy Carl Black, succumb to cancer at
11:00 PM German time on Halloween. Cancer sucks.

In general, this is sad news. No one deserves to die of something like cancer. However, he wasn't particularly a very influential drummer... at least not for me.

He didn't influence me that much, but
the music and the group he played in was TIGHT!

That name struck me, but I couldn't place it. Then I thought .. "I'm Jimmy Carl Black, and I'm the indian in the group", and realized who it was that you were talking about. It's a damn shame. I'm a fan of Frank Zappa, when he played with the Mothers of Invention. Sad news :cry:
