I'm always curious especially when it comes to web browsers, when you vote please state why it is your choice!

(the chrome every 30 minutely refers tot he fact more than 20 builds have been released in the space of a few hours.)

edit: oops i forgot to say why I'm sticking with the Firefox nightly's as the main: although chromes JavaScript is slightly faster in the Sunspider test and it gets a 100/100 on the acid i cant live without my mouse gesture and adblock plus plugins.

only thing that's depressing me about the Firefox builds is that they have been regressing with the JavaScript engine this last week :/ what most people who use Firefox 3.1 don't know is you have to enable the new JavaScript speedy engine (TraceMonkey) through about:config and searching jit and setting both values to true by double clicking.

i don't think anyone likes ie when it takes 65 seconds to do the sunspider test and chrome 1.8 lol, Firefox isn't far behind with tracemonkey but I'm still only reporting 2.0 seconds.

off topic: any firefox addon that will add a auto correct option to the spell checker?

well hasn't jit been landed with fsync in the last days so that there's no need to activate it anymore?

i just did a fresh install a my schools this morning and the boolean values where false i would think they would remove them or make them true.

besides if you change them you get different scores on the acid3 :P

Google is stretching itself too far, Chrome won't last.

what makes you think they are stretching themselves to far? they have 20,300 full time employees so its not manpower. Google also has a lot of good ideas; i'm sure chrome will become just as popular as firefox IF they get as good of user made content going.

The main purpose of Chrome is not to compete with other browsers. It's to essentially force other browsers into advancing different areas of their browser.

Take the Javascript engine. Everyone was reasonably content with their javascript engine before, but now Chrome and it's V8 engine is out, everything looks bad in comparison, and both Mozilla's Gecko and Safari's Webkit are getting a significantly upgraded javascript engine. The upshot for Google here? Google's Web Applications run much faster on these updated engines, making them much more usable and much more of a rival to desktop-based applications now that they can run at a usable speed with little lag.
