Wow unlimited, Where I live (NZ) Xtra one time in late '06 said that they would give cap-free net but they were full of [censored], the plan at night limited your speed to 700Kb/s and they got rid of it after 4weeks :(

Zero. The problem with download caps is it restricts how much porn you can download in a month, and well everyone knows porn makes the internet go!

Excluding Australia and New Zealand, most non-third-world countries offer non capped plans at good prices.

25GB Onpeak (9AM to 4AM) and 25 GB Offpeak (4AM to 9AM), when I go over one of the peaks, I get throttled back to 64/64 for that peak time.

But one good thing about TPG is, if you're nearing one of your Peak times, just keep everything running at Max, you can get an extra 5 to 15GB of BW out of it because there usage meter doesn't update on the fly, takes 24 to 36hours or more.

i remember that, our speed actually got slower. They gave you the option to keep it and we did but pretty much everything was shaped and it ended up blocking steam. they have however doubled our cap to 20gb this month :D

OP: IIRC, NZ runs through Australia for net so no wonder your not getting unlimited, if we're not, your definately not.

Ya know, Telstra do 600MB on ADSL2+ for like $60 a month :D
Dodo have Free*** ADSL2

I want to get either the 150GB or 500GB ADSL2+ plan from TPG when we move though.

Currently I'm on Adam Internet 20+20+20GB Cap (40GB Down, 20GB Up)

*** Free ADSL2 Dodo conditions - 150MB included usage, at full speed, can be used in 50 seconds - not lying.

Do they actually keep track of how much you use at school?
Also, is it just me, or is your sig broken?

I think the poll is a bit flawed, I would say most people have more than a 20gb cap in the UK.
No cap here.

Mabye so, but he lives in New Zealand, any more than 20 Gb is pretty uncommon/overpriced.

Tiscali Fair Usage Policy.

Still, getting away with over 20Gb is easy enough.

The last time I checked Bendigo Community Telco's caps were still at 100GB (Capped to that last year from unlimited) and that's at $64.95 or something like that.

No cap. I can do 2100GB/month even with the throttling the ISP puts in place. Yes, 2.1TB/month. Thats if I run at full speed for a full month.

When I first an internet connection for the first computer we used, it was provided by NTL, which is now Virgin Media, and there are no download limits as far as I am aware, the download speed is 256kb max.

Had to login to Bigpond to see what my plan was, been a while...
Looks like ADSL2+ is finally here, couldn't get it 3 months ago, living
in a rural town as I do, I didn't bother checking the prices for 2+, it's
too dear now, & I've only used 2 gig this month, or moreso, my kids
have used 2gig...

See http://www.virginmedia.com/help/traffic-management.php

Daytime 10:00 to 15:00, 1000MB download then 1/2 speed for 5 hours.
Evening 15:00 to 20:00, 200MB upload then 1/2 speed for 5 hours.
Evening 16:00 to 21:00, 500MB download then 1/2 speed for 5 hours.

All other times are unrestricted.

They're the thresholds before your speed will be 1/2'ed for a 5 hour period. Its called Subscriber Traffic Management and its their way of enforcing their Fair Usage Policy.

When I am downloading things at night time, the connection speed seems noticeable to what it does in the daytime.

Comcast (US)... 250GB Cap (although the most I've used is 50GB). Speeds of 4000/384k

Switching to FiOS eventually, 10Mbps/2Mbps, no cap.
