I think only the 32-bit version has been leaked. What hardware are you running this build of Windows 7 on?

Only 32bit was leaked, I suspect it will stay that way :)

Did you do an upgrade over Windows Vista itself, or is it a dual-boot?

No, there is no such version. As M1 had leaked I was looking for x64 version. Even though I looked through many torrent sites I didn't found x64 version, but only x86.

There is such a version, I know a fair number of people who have it. It's just not leaked. As Ben said.

And if you, I or anyone else had it, there wouldn't really be much point in leaking it, since it doesn't have any extra special features better than the 32-bit version.

I don't know why you do this but I do it because I like collecting betas. It may not have any new features but calling it pointless ia little harsh. It's like with the PDC2003 discs, there's little if anything interesting one can do with them but they're still pretty fun to have and mess around with.

If someone were to leak Windows 7 Build 6780, that would be worth something more than just leaking an X64 version of an already leaked build.

You ungrateful [censored], be happy with what you get, this is about Beta collecting in the whole, not wanting or suggesting what is useless or of value.

Grow up.

So, people would still be intrested if I could get hold of the unleaked 64-bit version of leaked builds of things like Windows 7/Longhorn? (I am not saying I actually will of course, I am just asking).

Well of course, all builds are builds. 32 or 64 bits doesn't matter, it's all good. :)

People in this community are interested in everything, regardless if it has high value or the least value, because you can't really rate it on a scale, it's a hobby.

So to answer your question: It wouldn't matter what it is, and the people who do have the unleaked Longhorn builds (I knows of acouple) arn't going to be repeating the same mistakes as before.

Is that why when Build 4039 of Longhorn leaked, even though Vista was already long released and it had been 5 years ago since Build 4039 had been made, everyone was still excited?

Going back ontopic: I have a strange feeling that Windows 7 Beta 1 will be even harder to get hold of than Windows Vista Beta 1 was.

Interesting, I never considered Vista Beta 1 something hard to get...

The first beta (in December) is to be public release. Pre-beta in PDC'll be closed one.

And I'm sure you would be basing this on all your experience from the Vista Beta 1 era...

But why doesn't Microsoft generally release a Beta 1 version of a product to the whole public, but with Beta 2 they do? If they release a Beta 1 version to the whole public, won't they get more feedback about the bugs and issues? I remember the Beta 1 of Internet Explorer 8 beign released entirely to the public, and I was able to download and use it straight away without having to go through lots of registration pages asking me lots of question about myself.

They didn't do this because Windows Vista Beta 1 was aimed towards developers, and not the end-user. Also, Windows Vista Beta 1 wasn't hard to get hold of at all. If you couldn't find it, you were looking in the wrong places.

Why was the Beta 1 of Vista aimed mainly at developers wheras the Beta 1 of Internet Explorer 8 was freely downloadable from Microsoft's Internet Explorer Page?
