Server processors are designed to handle a ton of different workloads at once, hence the high core count but low frequency.

Depending on the workload, some workloads prefer higher clocks, MySQL/MariaDB/MSSQL works better with clock speed.

Here are some updates to my desktop that I decided to add,

This PC has a USB WiFi adapter, so that I can connect to the internet those hideous Ethernet wires :P That's nothing new, I just forgot to add that spec when I originally posted my PC specs. It might not be considered a spec, but I'll still count it.
As for its hard drive and solid-state drive, I switched my PC's local disk from the SSD, which was originally the default storage area, but now the hard drive is the computer's local disk/main hard drive. The SSD is now the computer's boot drive.

And just a quick 10min build.

Board: Asus z390-A
CPU: Celeron G4900
Ram: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb 3200
GPU: Titan X Maxwell
PSU: Corsair CX-750m.
OS: Server2012R2 Standard

Unlike the case for Win7 die-hards, 90% of the drivers and hardware work under 2012R2/Win8.1. Only problem is ethernet, but I planned to get a pcie 2 port card so no real loss anyways. Intel HD, don't care I have a real gpu.

Words can't describe how trash that Celery is. Idling at 90-96% cpu usage, it bogs down and lags just opening Pale moon despite the gpu. And since Realtek audio is CPU dependent, doing anything causes the audio to skip and distort.
I already planned to add a dedicated soundcard and better processor. This Celery was just interim as it was one I literally found.

The liquid cooling is probably overkill right now for it, and never really goes beyond 10% power.

Now why did I choose an Intel build over AMD? Scientific programs are still highly optimized for Intel.
