FTP Access

Tue Oct 23, 2007 11:21 pm

I just downloaded DOS 6.22 and installed it on VMware for running various Windows versions.

It is the single one I downloaded which I built the CD image and config.exe asks me for booting off Config Floppy 1, but the bootsector wasn't included... :?

I tried using "sys c:" and after "sys c: a:" trick but the floppy just reads "Non-system disk or disk error".

How can I override this?

PS: I have the following things that should help:
- Windows NT 4.0 Server SP1 on another partition
- MS-DOS 6.21 bootdisk (my 6.22 one has broken CD drivers) and 6.22 setup disks

There are so many questions that I don't answer because I don't know what is being asked. This one is border-line.

I think what you are saying is that you downloaded DOS 6.22 and put it on a CD but the CD isn't bootable?

A simple solution would be to do what DjRob suggested, and just download the disk image version. You can mount the disk images in vmWare or VirtualPC and it's just about as fast as installing from a CD.

If you absolutely need to have it on a CD, that's a bit more complicated.
