Can we stop using rapidshare, now i don't want to pay money for a Bloody account just so i can download more than 1 file,
reasons rapidshare sucks when you don't have a credit card
1. only 1 download at a time
2. download times SUCK
3. waiting to download, please stop using
Rapidcrap

Yes, let's drop Rapidshare.

I suggest people either upload straight to an FTP (I'm quite happy to have anything within the forum rules on my server, whether it's stuff that could go on the BA server or not) or they use this service if/when they have access to it.

RapidShare isn't actually as bad as it used to be, they've got rid of the Captchas (which were getting ridiculously difficult on there before they removed them) and you don't seem to have to wait as long between each file any more (it used to be about 3 hours but lately it seems to have been less) - the download speeds were reduced at the same time as these changes it seems, but I don't mind that so much as you can just leave it and pick the file up when it's ready.

Seriously, why do people use Rapidshare? When I download from Rapidshare, I can download at like half my bandwidth. And there are other hosting sites that are as good as Rapidshare, such as Mediafire, Megaupload, etc.

I'm surprised nobody has asked for a public upload section on the BA server yet...

I always use mediafire (using the basic (old) uploader) it works great, and its fast both up and down and no wait times.

Hi Guys,

Since we are testing it anyway, instead of using Rapidshare, use your BA Desk.

This is how you do.

1) Upload the file to a folder
2) Right the file and chose "share"
3) Chose to share the file with a non-startforce user
4) Add the users you want to share it with in the next window, eg. add your own email to recieve the share link

*wolla*

Each user have 1gb free, and BA Admin can easyly change that :-)

For those who need to download from RS quickly, as a premium user, www.viete.info, is a good generator. It offers 1 download per IP per 30 mins I think, but you can just reset your router and grab a new IP if you're like me :)

if its small and like, not outright warez or child porn, just upload it to my public ftp: ftp://anonymous@zimmy.co.uk/incoming

it's available from http://zimmy.co.uk/ftp-master/incoming

don't upload like 20GiB files or anything.

Yeah but some douchebag would likely upload a virus, and seeing how andy likes windows servers for whatever the hell reason, it would pose a big problem.

How about limitatnig the formats to .zip, .rar, .7z and other archives? Also, baning hotlinking (just like in the already existing image uploader) would be nice so noone would upload any non-ba-related stuff to share it somewhere else.

Still, archives are a bad idea. Somebody will find a way to have them unarchived, really, andy would be having his box prone to be rooted.

That would be pretty sweet, but Andys already running out of HD space.
And I disagree with this thread, latley Rapidshare has been pleasant to use.
