My laptop just crashed. It give me an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I installed WinXP MCE from my WinXP 9 in 1 CD. I tried to do a recovery but it crashes on 6 minutes remaining on the "Saving Files" progress. I just restarted setup and it just begun. I need a way to copy my files to my USB ASAP because they are EXTREMELY hard to find. Please help me!

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL? It looks like there is some resource conflict between the drivers. Try using Last Known Good Config in NTLDR.

you could try to get a linux distribution which has a live cd function and load up into that and then transfer files.

Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download) has such a feature and it means that the OS files are loaded onto the memory instead of the hard-drive.

I can't my Windows is currently installing. It will be done in 10 minutes and if it crashes I'll report everything.

Will it read my USB? and since my Windows is not installed yet, will it read the files already on the HD?

I think some of your hardware is broken if it continuesly BSOD's.
Even after several reinstalls.

Try the Ubuntu distro.

if the problem is ram and you do manage to log into Windows you can use a piece of software called memtest (http://www.memtest.org/) to see if in fact there is a problem with the ram. i can't say that i've ever used it but, as the name implies, it is meant to test for memory failures

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is ALWAYS a driver or hardware problem.

The best thing to do is clock your cpu/ram down as slow as they can go, use non-exotic hardware for testing (use a PATA drive instead of SATA for instance).

My laptop is so far so good. I will do a memtest in about 5 minutes and will write back tomorrow morning.

Never EVER put titles such as "EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED" when you are in no real emergency; and from what you've said, you feel it is important to recover files from your laptop's harddrive where your warezed XP install isn't working... you haven't even stated why this is of urgent priority.

You're lucky you're still a newbie, or I'd really get fired up. If someone is on the forums and has a real-life emergency, it is unlikely, but still possible that they could seek help through the forums - if anyone does anything like that within the short-term future your false-alarm is likely to cause people to skip over similarly-worded but true emergency posts.

As a side-note, I suggest trying a larger forum for urgent hardware issues, like MSFN or NeoWin. Put such a stupid title on one of those and I'd expect a permaban.
