Hi Everybody!

Can anyone recommend me some passive cooling heatsinks with good performance or very very quiet CPU coolers?

The cooler cannot exceed a height of 14,5cm and it's being used with an Antec Fusion 430 black with an Athlon 64 4850E Brisbane and a Gigabyte GA-ma69BM-s2h

Thanks for the suggestions!

The Scythe Ninja would be an option I think. You can attach a 120mm fan to it if necessary. If you run passively you need to make sure the CPU doesn't overheat though and that depends on many variables, e.g. airflow in the case, presence of other fans etc. If the board allows to undervolt the CPU, have a look into this too as this can significantly reduce the amount of heat the processor generates.

Yeah, I've looked at it with a pretty crappy heatsink and it's a pretty cool processor, It's also the energy efficient 45w brand.

I wouldn't find any issues with overheating, the case itself also has two 120mm fans blowing.

The scythe ninja looks a little big at 15cm high.

The Scyhe Orochi would probably be the best Cooler for passive use. On the other hand, if the Ninja is too big for you, you won't like the Orochi either. I don't think you'll be able to use something smaller then the Ninja without any directly attached active fan... I could be mistaken tho (havent used an AMD for more then 3 years now)

You could try getting a case that acts as the heatsink. I have seen one before which make the whole case act as a heatsink since its made entirely of thick metal with fins all over it. Might be worth a look.

I have the Zalman 7700cu, its a awesome CPU Cooler in general but has a silent mode where it can't be heard outside of every other component in a computer.
