Instead of having these things all over the place, how about we add them to the existing site? It would keep everything in one place.

So this would require a seperate forum rather than just extra catagories.

Subforums requires modding does it not?

On phpBB2, yeah. Not on phpBB3, though, but thats only in a beta. I, personally, wouldn't trust a website of this magnitude with phpBB3.

When phpBB3 comes out we may be making the switch since its spam prevention is apparently a lot better and there are lots of new features. We'll take that bit as it comes though.

As for the tech support forums, I think another forum duplicated to look like this one would be good. Just edit the logo a bit to say its the tech support forum.

Either that or I set up a new one on a subdomain (techsupport.betaarchive.co.uk for example) and let someone else manage it.

I think it would be nice to keep the look the same as the site.

If you want it integrated to the main forums then thats up to you guys. It is your community afterall

I like this better. This, after all, should be for discussing OSs (Beta and Retail). But, yeah, the look should be fairly similar to the already established one.

I'm always available to volunteer my time, too

Ill have a think on how I could implement it easily without causing too much confusion. I still think it might be good to put it on the main forum and make you the main moderator. At least that way everything is in one place, people only need one browser window open and its all there to scroll down and see new posts. It also means less work for me making a new subdomain, database, forum install, skinning, modding etc etc etc.

It very well could be possible to implement it into the already existing forum. Just add a category and a some forums under that, like this:

Category:Technical Support
-*OS Support
-*Application Support
-*Hardware Support
-*USB Device Support (Just as an aside, this should include MP3 players / iPods)
-*Web Support (Help in administering a website and the like)

Just a quickly done, rough draft of what could be possible.
