I have some old PAL PSX games but I live in the USA. I popped one of the games in today and of course I see everything flashing by over and over again. Is there any sort of PAL to NTSC converter I can buy to correct this? I tried searching but just came up with all sorts of unrelated garbage.

My modchipped Playstation plays both PAL and NTSC games on my PAL TV so maybe a modchip might fix it.

I have a modchip, that's how I'm playing them. I bought a couple of them for something like $3 a piece and installed one today. It's actually an NTSC console. With my Xbox modchip you can play PAL games but this is not quite as advanced.

Unfortunately most of my old PSX games are scratched up or lost.

Here's a list of applications that are supposed to convert your games from PAL to NTSC and vice versa. I don't know how well they work as I've never tried any of them, but you should tell me if they do work.

My TV might be NTSC compatible in that case. I'm not sure because these NTSC Playstation games are the only thing I have that's NTSC. Everything else (DVDs, etc.) are PAL.
