When I try to install windows 7 on a seperate partitn that vista was on and still is The installer will freeze, crash, or when I switched back to my mainboard graphics card I got a Bsod it said "Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal" and on the bottom it said tcpip.sys. I do not know if this is a coincidence or not. I have a compaq sr2010nx with 1.18 gb of ram and a xfx geforce xxx graphics card. Please Help.

tcpip.sys is from the Network Protocol.

Are you upgrading or starting installation from within Windows and have selected, download the newest files?, then thats your problem.

It can also be that youre Network driver is not reconized because its too old (i dont know which one you have).

And its certainly NOT the GRAPHICS.

And a side note:
For installing beta's, i know that there is a certain feel of installing it on real hardware, dont do it only your only PC, you can srew it up forever.
Try to use it in VMWare or VPC, the only thing is that you dont have aero glass.

Checked the RAM? Both these BSODs could be caused by RAM issues. Still, it should happen with all OSes if it was RAM.
