I'm looking to run some longhorn builds on my computer, and I'd like to try a few in x64. I'd like to know if my computer will support it, I don't even think x64 was around when my CPU was created, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I hope you guys can help me, my system specs are as follows:

AMD Althon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+

....and I guess if it matters....

2GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 7300

hmmm...thanks for the info. I'll try out x64 builds freely now, my CPU is 2.1GHZ so I'm sure it will.

Thanks again for helping me out.

Well, that's what the "64" in "Athlon 64" stands for... 64bit. You can also run a tool such as CPU-Z to find out info about the CPU.

Happy testing!

Don't mean to be patronising, but it's in the name. Look at names for info on processors :).

For those that have a sempron.
Socket 462 (socket A, also for Athlon XP) doesn't not support 64bit
Socket 754 AX and BO stepping doesn't support 64bit
Socket 754 BX stepping and anything newer than BX should have 64bit support.
So any Socket 939 and AM2 semprons have 64bit support.
