Bored... what betas should I try...

Post by happy dude »

I've got 9GB of downloads in 8 days to use and I'm bored as hell (no, I can't go outside, its like flooding -_-) so I may as well test some betas...

Suggestions please?

I guess it depends on what betas you've downloaded (since you mentioned you downloaded about 9GB worth) Personally I would be going for the latter Whistler/XP builds (24xx and up). It's quite interesting to see what is compatible with what. Also, see how far back you can run updates. I've successfully install updates for builds as early 2505. You'll have to use Windiz update with Firefox however, as the regular Windows update won't let you proceed until you install Genunine Advantage...

I would reccomend longhorn builds 4074, 3718, 5048 and 5112, their always interesting, and 4074 and 3718 have some really neat features.

The Windows 95 betas (Chicago) are pretty interesting.

Nice to see how the interface evolved with the time.
I'm so newbie here.

I'm speechless
