Essentially AVG's linkscanner is DDosing many websites, claiming to be legit IE6 traffic.

Time for a new AV, people.

Well for 7.5 you can still get updates...

But i see many unknown visitors on my site, very short time, but i think its the AVG.

I cant trust the visitors number anymore (if i really care, its more like a information website).

BTW, working on a newer version, more clean, this website isnt going to be up for a few weeks/months.
Please if you respond to the website stated above, do it in the right topic in Microsoft OS.

Looks like they've rolled out an update that's fixed the problem.

And no, they discontinued updates for 7.5 on May 30.

Well no.

They still continue to update it, i know a few people who use 7.5 and still updates and scans every day.
Business can even still buy 7.5

Oh. I got all sorts of messages from telling me to upgrade to 8.0 because the updates for 7.5 would be ended, so I did.

This is starting to make me not want to use AVG.

AVG actually said that they'd stop doing that after everybody complained. I mean, nobody would mind if they ACTUALLY identified themselves as bots, but, well, they didn't and that was the problem.

Check those out for reading. And, if you check around on the internet, there's a way to not install the link scanner for new installs with a console switch. I have this, because it wrongly identifies a lot of URLs as dangerous.
