Easy as pi: Astrophysicist solves riddle of Britain's most complex crop circle

Quote:
It is - by any calculation - a creation stunning in its ingenuity.

Carved out in a barley field, this 150ft wide pattern is said to be a pictorial representation of the first ten digits of Pi, one of the most fundamental symbols in mathematics.

Believers in extra-terrestrials could argue it was made by mathematically-minded aliens on a field trip to Earth.

I knew it! If its in the shape of a circle it must have something to do with π!

Crop circles are probably just insurance fraud...

If maths was invented on Earth, how did the same mathematics get into space and into the brains of aliens?

Maths might not be "invented". It might be a natural phenomena that happens to evolve into every species. Until we meet another intelligent species we will never know will we.

Yes, mathematics are a completely human invented science, not a universal contant that has always been and always will.

Pretty cool but I'm still wondering how they make these kind of things :^)
In one of the replies someone wrote this:
Quote:
If this wasn't some sort of supra normal event, then there had to be hundreds of people involved in this over a long period of time, and all of them astro - and nuclear physicist PHDs, as well as surveyors, aerial observers (balloonists or microlite pilots), site organisers, logistics experts, vehicle operators and supports people. And a lot of time, all with the collusion of a farmer who owns the field and wants to damage their valuable crop, on the off-chance that he might get a bit of money out of it from the papers. Or the insurance...

These things appear overnight, usually!!

But a couple of old blokes with a plank of wood and some string will claim to have made this! Or some drunk students.

Wake up, people!

And he is actually right. How can they make sure it's that perfect when it's done overnight...
Probably by hacking some CIA satellites 8-| xD
