FTP Hosting Problem

Post by LotsaHeart »

Hello

I'm trying to host a FTP Server, but every time I try to connect to it myself, it does not work, I tried basically everything I know of:

Custom Hostnames (NO-Ip, DynDNS)
Port Forwarding the Correct Ports
Not using the default port

If you can kindly help me, I use Verizon DSL, but I'm just about to pull my hair out from this problem

Or simply try to disable your firewall on your computer...

Leave the router firewall on and then you could connect to it.
But the link andy discribed does a good job also.

Could you please give us more information? Are you using the FTP service from Microsoft? How have you tried to route your connection? Have you tried to DMZ? Are their multiple computers on your network?
