If you have the leak you should upload it to the FTP.

So seika, is this why you are so interested in (and wanted me to upload you) my builds of NIS 2009?

So far only ET1 has been released (I'm a member of the private beta program at Symantec). BTW the codename is Rolling Thunder.

Here are some screen shots I took of my system running it:

If people want me to upload it (and later builds when Symantec pushes them out to us) I can.

i'd wait to upload it for you guys so i'm waiting to upload et2 which will hopefully have the new UI and a better design, the horrible and ugly looking ui is only for a few builds.....

Please do upload the last build, It really would be useful for the archival purposes if you do upload the build before, so you can see the differences, bugs etc and the improvements. Plus you'd be helping out the community in advance.

Here is the ET1 build (since i don't have FTP access i went with mediafire):

This is the only build that has been released so far, though It only had a 15 day product key (which is almost expired now) so I do expect ET2 shortly. Which I will upload.

Thank you for uploading this, do you mind if I upload it to my FTP, I will credit you if you want, however I don't want this to be removed and it lost.

Yes, I'm ok with you uploading it to your FTP. I don't particularly care about credit as long as the file gets saved somewhere, but if you want to give it to me thats fine.

ET2 should be available in a few days so I'll hopefully get it up shortly after its pushed out... If I'm lucky I'll have ftp access here by then....

Edit: See post at bottom of page, ET2 released

Downloaded the file, I'll upload it to my FTP, if you can post the newer builds when they are available, please do so. I don't want these to be lost, could be useful for many reasons.

I have had this for a few days but have only just installed it on my VM.

It slows the system down more than their last rubbish release

(FYI, i dont like norton)

I installed this build of Norton on its own Windows Partition, it installed in under 45 seconds, and is much faster and lighter on system resources than any other release to date. Besides you also have to keep in mind that this is a beta 1 release so there are bound to be a few glitches and even the odd memory leak. Normally I use avast, but NIS 09 is looking to be a damn good release.

As for the product key, I'm not sure, but there is a possibility that keys from older versions of Norton will work. I would release my key, but its traceable back to me which would prevent me from releasing future builds and there are only a few days left before it expires (It was only 14 days to start with).

the key expires in 4 days but you can try using the old cltvault.dll hack or similar to use an NIS 08 key.

ET2 went live

Post by Luthian »

ET2 was just posted all of 20 minutes ago so consider this an insta-leak

DL here: http://www.mediafire.com/?jevm1hitd94

The last build was "ET1 Build 51" this is "ET2 Build 58"

I haven't been able to install this build yet as my primary test machine is in the shop so best of luck to whoever decides to give it a go.

Edit: Apparently the UI still isn't final but there have been "lots of changes" since the last build.
