ibook g3 :9.2
powermac G4/server; 10.4.11 Tiger server;
imac g5 Leopard
The power mac also can use any oSX betas which i do have the originals for and the various mac betas i've come across(wwdc previews, etc). Also have a tibook that runs 10.3 but its broken. All in all though i think Tiger is the best like it more then leopard. As far as classic goes 9 is good but 8 does more

With all Macs I have (except the old vintage LC II and Power Macintosh 7500) are running 10.4.11. Firstly, I don't feel like buying Leopard and my internet isn't good enough to easily download all of Leopard so I'll be using Tiger for a while. I'm using System 7 on my LC II and Mac OS 9 on my Power Macintosh 7500.

I use Leopard 10.5.3 on my Macbook Pro. It originally came with tiger pre-installed with a Leopard drop-in disk.

Home:
Mac OS 7.5.3 - Mac Plus and Mac Classic
Mac OS X Server 10.4.11 - PowerMac G3 (Blue and White)
Mac OS X 10.5.2 - PowerMac G4 (Quicksilver)

At work we have all the Mac labs at 10.4.11 --due to 10.5 having issues with Pharos Print Server. All other office Macs are steadily being migrated from 10.4.x to 10.5.x with Office 2008. I feel sorry for the people stuck on G4s having to use Office `08, it's painfully slow.

I find it takes quite a while to load on my G4-upgraded G3 but isn't bad once it's going - it's very slow (again particularly when loading) on an iBook G3/366 though.

How come, what happened? Is that a Beige or Blue & White Mac?

Ooh, pretty. Why won't it boot? You pulled all the pci cards out and swapped the ram? I have a Pismo PowerBook G3 upgraded to a 550MHz G4. My baby , still fast running 10.4.11.

10.4.11 (Dual Boot 9.2.2) on the iMac Slotty
9.2.2 on the 2 iMac Tray Loaders as 64MB/96MB of ram isn't quite enough to handle OS X Well.
8.0/8.6 on The PowerMac 7200/7300
7.6 on the LC III and PowerBook 190CS
7.0.1 on the Mac Classic.

Yeh, I probably own too many Macs but most of them are in the shed.

I've pulled all the cards, replaced the RAM, HD, cdrom, etc. There is no monitor signal on intergrated or PCI video, the Hd won't spin up at all, doesnt matter which one is connected, and the CD Rom doesntwork. There is also no startup chime.
I think its pretty much dead.

That's pretty sad, sounds like a loved machine Always loved the way you could overclock the chip on the G3 B&W with jumpers on the board

Because Apple released 10.5.3 not long ago (last week I think). If you do have 10.5.4, how? Are you a developer? You never stated if it's beta or final.

I seem to remember from the old days that he's on the AppleSeed programme, which is where they distribute all the beta builds - they started testing 10.5.4 very recently so AppleSeed members would have received it by now They haven't opened registrations for it for many years though I think, I'm not sure how you would get on to it.

That's an awesome collection of Macs by the way, you have more than they have in the Apple Store! What do you do with them all? Do you work for Apple and they give them to you very cheaply or something?

Do the lights and fans come on? A new board could probably be found very cheap/free nowadays if you wanted to get it going again I would suspect a faulty board if you've tried everything else. Did you try with individual memory modules installed? (often memory problems can cause big problems with them) Have you tried replacing the little battery on the board with a new one?

How did you get it to 700 MHz by the way? I assume it's a Beige one like mine as the Blue ones don't have integrated video, but I'm only aware of 500 MHz G4 (the one I have in mine) and 1 GHz G4 upgrades for them?

I was told that it was a 700mhz, but I'm not sure. The fans and lights come on, the CD drive will sometimes open, but the HD doesnt spin up and there is no monitor signal.
