Who here programs in Delphi?

Also, post what version(s) you use.

I like Delphi very much and I use Delphi 7 under Windows XP.

I know Delphi, and I use it for maintenance contracts that have work done in it, but I almost never create new software with it. Pascal is not my favorite syntax, and the writing is on the wall... Borland (or Codegear) is going to die. They have been trying to sell off their development products for a few years now, and no one is biting.

I use Delphi sometimes. Not as much anymore. I version 4. I know, old 1995/1996 version but it can still do most things I like to do when making small apps that help with everyday tasks.

I code in Delphi myself, I use atm the newest one since I also try to code managed with .Net. And the Delphi IDE is sooo superior to Visual Studio IDE (in my opinion :P )

My two favorite languages at the moment are Delphi and Java. I code in Delphi 7 nearly every day ;)

Its a great language... but things move on.

These days I'm more interested in web programming e.g. PHP. But I did work on many half-finished apps back in the day.

Same as me.

I did a few hours rubbish programming in Delphi with help from a friend but Pascal isn't my strong point. I hate defining variables etc where as in PHP you can just define it when its made.

Oops, even our admin don't likes Pascal!

I don't know why I like Pascal.
Originally, I had Delphi only to mod open-source apps made on it.

Do you mean like in BASIC, where the variable doesn't exist until it's in use?

That's bad practice. :P
