i was just wondering if it is possible to install ie7 on win2k, i modified the install.inf Version]
CatalogFile = %SP_SHORT_TITLE%.cat
LanguageType = %LangTypeValue%
MaxNtBuildToUpdate = 9999
MaxNtMajorVersionToUpdate = 5
MaxNtMinorVersionToUpdate = 0
MaxNtServicePackVersion = 5120
MinNtServicePackVersion = 512
NtBuildToUpdate = 2100
NtMajorVersionToUpdate = 5
NtMinorVersionToUpdate = 0
RebootRequired = 1
Signature = "$Windows NT$"

so if run the xmllitesetup first would ie7 install on win2k?

A team of us while we were working on Windows AlphaBetas a while back tried to do this with our build of Windows 2000 SP4 with the Roll-Up. It seemed it could never work. We did use an Internet Explorer from one of the Longhorn builds that was a little newer than the 6.0 SP2 release, but it's probably more stable to simply use the final one offered for 2000.

And if you want it to look like IE7, I would just "Reshack" the file browseui.dll a few times and replace icons here and there. :P

IE7 probably uses a few of the new API functions added in SP2 (Like the Vista installer), so without implementing those functions in W2k I doubt it would ever work.
