... well, I've been having this for at least a month now. Thing is, whenever I attempt to run a DOS/Command Prompt program, that's not CMD.EXE, in full-screen mode, it just halts, regard-less of whether I run it from CMD.EXE or from Explorer. And they all run alright, when started in windowed mode, but only until I switch them to full-screen mode. Why is that? :?

I'm not sure, I've never had this problem, however I think you might need to either reinstall Windows or restore some of the system files. Installing/Reinstalling an update such as Windows XP SP2 might work since it would probably replace a lot of system files.

Hi.

Usually this is a problem related to some drivers / applications installed on PC (not the DOS application itself, i mean other apps :) ) that uses the following file:

winio.sys

Do a full search for this file and rename it, i.e. winio.sy_
if windows asks you to restore the file, say "NO".
Reboot and verify if full screen DOS is working.
