Hi,

Some of you from osbetaarchive may remember my XPL project.

Well due to me aquiring an older pc I think I may start this project up again.

Last time, it really was a heavily nLited XP with some BAT files & a custom control panel.

This time I'm gonna make it a lot more, and dare I say, customised for older setups in general.

Would there be much interested in this if I were to start it again, and what features would people like to see?

Feedback is muchly appreciated.

Windows XPL was one of the best custom OS's of it's day - if not, the best. Definitely start this back up - I'd support you 100%.

I remember XPL from the OSBA days and would love to see it come back. One of your XPL builds was running on a number of low end computers around the shop I worked in at the time.

Regular unmodified XP is specified by MS as running on a 233 MHz P1 with 64 MB Ram, so low-spec for this would really need to be lower than that if the idea is to reduce XP's system requirements ;) Remember that XP is a 2001 OS and that PC would actually have been pretty good in 2001!

Thanks for the replies!

Didn't realise it was such a popular project!

Anyway, all releases will be made available to everyone (download details will be posted in a thread specifically for XPL in Custom OS Section) so no specified beta testers or anything.

Keep your eyes peeled for a release tomorrow!

Cheers
