What OSes does a Cisnet PC support ? (AMD Athlon 64 Model)

Post by YoshiFan111 »

Hello :3

So, I've picked up this "Cisnet" PC (a ZT Cisnet CA-8003C to be exact) for 10$ at a garage sale about 1 month ago. I have restored the PC (because it was disgusting, cable management was horrible etc etc) and I got it to boot. The thing has a 250GB HDD, wich has been wiped completely. I have tried putting an OS on it, but it refuses to accept anything. Windows XP gave me a BSOD (CD), so I tried a USB but it refuses to install too. I had a spare wich I threw in the 250GB HDD and installed Windows 7 on it. It boots fine on that PC, but still refuses completely to boot in the "Cisnet" PC. I have checked HDD cables multiple times and everything is connected. The thing has an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ @ 2.4 GHz and 2GB of ram. It also has a "Designed for Windows XP and Vista Compatible" sticker on it. The original OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (since it has a WinXP MCE 2005 product key on it).

So, I wanted to know, what OSes are compatible with the Cisnet PC ???

Thanks,

Is your hard drive (and CD drive) SATA? If it is and the BSOD occurs when booting from the Windows XP installation CD, you're likely dealing with the lack of compatible RAID/ACHI drivers. If your BIOS has a setting that allows you to change your hard drive controller's mode from RAID/ACHI to IDE/ATA, change it then see if the Windows XP CD will boot. If your BIOS doesn't have this setting, you'll most likely need to get drivers for your SATA controller.

What chipset does your motherboard use? I've been trying to google the specs for the ZT Cisnet CA-8003C and none of the results mention neither the chipset nor the video card used in that computer.

The CD drive is a DVD±RW (+R DL), wich is IDE and the hard disk is IDE too. I've took my info for this PC on this site : https://www.allthingsmine.com/products/ ... 83880.html

I don't exactly know what chipset it uses, but I know for a fact that the motherboard is an ASUS and has AMI (American Megatrends) BIOS
