Hello everyone, in the last past few months I have been working on a kernelEx for Windows NT 4.0 which can run softwares designed for new windows's version. I'm writing the functions in inline assembly (I'm using ida) and C. (There is also some code from reactos and wine). I have added several functions in kernel32,user32,gdi32 etc... and now they load some new software. I will release the first version in a few weeks, there are some glitch I need to solve. I want to know from you what new software do you wish to load in NT 4.0 and then I will try to get them load :)
Here, there are some software that work. If you have something you want to load, tell me in the posts

While I admire the effort for NT 4.0, 98SE is more popular.
Can you do something like that for 98SE? If not, what are the difficulties? Current KernelEx for 98SE is not developed any more for a long time, apart from jumper's updates, but it's not much: https://msfn.org/board/topic/173233-ker ... -45201617/
At least getting new browsers like in your examples to work under 98SE would be very beneficial, we're stuck at Opera 12.02.

I know NT 4.0 is closer to XP than 98SE, but one can wish...

Either way, great work :)

I guess the best here is to develop it first for WIndows NT 4.0, the port it to Windows 98SE, since Windows NT 4 is more stable (I hate to use Firefox 2 and Opera 9) and because make both proyects at the same time is a lot of more work. And porting it to Windows 98SE isn't so hard, since M$ made part of the work adding some elements from Windows NT 4 to Windows 98SE, so it could be better Windows NT 4 to Windows 98SE than Windows 98SE to Windows NT 4 (That could make Windows NT unstable, and I don't want that)
