Well, I was in Art and I was doing some research for a project and I printed out a page, so I headed to the printer to get it and nothing came out. It said on the printer screen, "Wrong Paper Size". I thought that was weird because I had just printed something a few minutes ago. I pushed the "print anyway" button and it started to print. I expected my research to come out, but instead, a picture of an alien winking and giving a peace sign. I went to the teacher and she said that the paper thing happens all of the time. she pushed the paper forward and tried it again, but it still didn't work, and it printed out another alien... :?

As I've always said, the strangest thing that happened to me with a computer was when I renamed some of the subfolders in "Program Files", and when I powered on the PC the next morning, all the files opened up, until there were so many files opened, that the system crashed. To this day, I still don't understand it.

The weirdest thing that's happened to me was with my old PC. I put it into hibernate mode, and at 2 in the morning it turned itself on. I hastily turned it off, but then it turned on again. :?

Then it never did anything funny like that again. :o

In front of a Thinkpad
my dell went insane earlier. After all the messing around, it turned out the RAM chip was fried. :(

It... touched me...

But seriously, Windows reported 10x more free space than drive size (about the strangest thing I've seen).

I, once, was able to get Windows 95 to display 320x240 with TWO colors.

I have a Compaq (Not the one I used for Internet, but a similer one), and at least it used to be like this. I would power it off, and an hour later, it would power back on again, partly because it didn't really power off, instead, Windows would shut down and the system would then suspend. One time, I was in bed, when I heard the sounds from that system all the way from the atic, even the Welcome to Windows 98 Music. Now, for all Compaqs like that one, I always make sure that when I power it off, I also make sure the switch at the back of the system (On the Power Supply) is in the off position.

That's possible if you use the right driver. Also, with the VGA Driver, you can get Windows 95 to display in VGA Monochrome (640x480, 2 Colors).

I turned on a computer I had built with Windows 2000 on it, and when I went to install a network, the screen went black and white and the icons started flashing and moving across from top-left to bottom-right, then back to the top-left again.

It turned out that I forgot to put something in the computer...

The fan...

I turned on my old PC (it was unplugged for 2 days). (Edited 26/Nov/2009)

After battery errors, I got into Windows, but completely screwed up:
* Opening properties in double-click (AFAIK open was disabled)
* Closing context menus instantly after showing up them
* Garbled mouse response
* Won't restart, it only closed explorer and stopped

The problem was solved by restarting using the reset button. (Edited 26/Nov/2009)

My old machine made up a whole new partition a while ago; which was full of absolute rubbish, like filenames made up entirely of undisplayable characters, and directories etc... but I could name the partition - I called it "SMELLS."

My laptop would always start up with really, really loud fans and it would stay like that until I put it to sleep and after that it was gone. But when I restarted, it was loud again, until I put it to sleep again...

Did that for a day, the next day everything was normal again...
