They are using an odd activation crack, it infinitely stays at 30 days.

i hope you told him what it was in the letter, the look on his face after reading it would have been funny!

wow, you got very restrictive school...
At my school we are doing just everything we want, IT hour = free hour. Whatever we do everybody will get a good mark in the end. I could do everything that teacher says, and even more like writting apps and have 5 (very good mark) as i did 2 years ago but now i just do nothing that i should (and everything that i shouldn't) and have 5 too...

my it class has xp with that same wierd crack too... but my school uses some crazy program called "sassafras k2" to lock the computers down, at least until they accidentally let us access the C: drive, then all bets were off. :P

it was much the same here, i finished the years work with a term left (about 10 weeks) without trying too hard, just spent most of the time playing games or tricking people into going to sites like lemonparty

You're not the only one still using Windows 9x. I used to use my old 1997 Compaq, with 16 MB RAM, 2.1 GB Hard Drive, 16x CD-ROM Drive, 1.44 MB Floppy Drive, Pentium MMX 166 Mhz Processor, Windows 95 OSR2.1, and Internet Explorer 5.5 as my primary Internet system. Now I'm using a Dell Latitude notebook with Windows ME and Internet Explorer 6.0 as my primary Internet PC. I'm probably one of the few here who still uses Internet Explorer too. I'm not sure if I'm the only one here who still uses Windows ME though, since marktuson mentioned his "Windows ME PC" on his website.

And in case you were wondering, if you want to "turn off the motherboard" on a system with an ATX Motherboard, flip the switch at the back of the Power Supply, or just unplug the PC.

I know it's Offtopic, but you double posted.

However, I'm glad I'm on a real PC and not an extremly limited and restricted one.

My school isn't that restrictive. Unless you account for you can't access task manager, nor goto any website that's not on a whitelist. Which is really only a few sites (you can't even goto another search engine besides google) :o

Another thing: The IT Guys think that they know everything, and we don't. Not true at all.

IT people (mostly at school boards) seem to believe that just because they went "and got an education" that they know everything.

WTC, my school still uses Windows 95/98/ME boxes. They won't upgrade to XP just because they don't like it.

We run this software at our school. You basically only have a select few icons on your desktop and no start button! So things like Solitaire and Minesweeper are pretty much out of the picture...Until I figured out the fine art of batch files...
