Back in the days I loved the voodoo cards, but the ATI Rage 128 has 32 MB memory, the Voodoo 3 only 16 MB.
Also the Rage 128 has a AGP 4x interface, the Voodoo 3 a AGP 2x/PCI interface.

The ATI Rage is the better choice.

You can compare a ATI Rage 128 with a Voodoo 3 3500.

the rage has 90mhz clock while the v3 has a 144MHZ clock

is the 128 better just because of the memory?

The voodoo 3 is certainly better. Don't even look at the hardware specs. The Rage cards completely sucked... but you had to be there I guess to remember it all.

There is one catch with the voodoo 3... or maybe not... 3d is done is 16bit color depth. I never noticed it, but it was about the only complaint of the cards.

The Voodoo3 is a much better card. It beats the Rage is just about every specification. Look at this comparison:

@someone153: you're comparing the wrong card. A rage fury would be the same as a Rage 128, not a 3D rage.

( see http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/ind ... 55288.html for more details about boards)

If he has a Rage pro that's even better (let alone a MAXX).
