Looking for a fully DWM-capable graphics card

Post by Jens »

Hey folks,
yeah - the topic says it all. (I know, I asked about it in another thread regarding LH 4039, but I'm afraid most people don't find it there)

Can anyone give me some rough data, on what I have to look for in the card's specs? Would like to by myself a cheap one on eBay. (Although it would be totally fine for me, if someone here wants to sell one to me)
Any particular suggestion is welcome as well.

Best regards
Jens

You will need a graphics card that supports Pixel Shader 2.0 and has at least 128mb of ram.

For ATI cards I believe anything from the Radion 9500 up is supported.
For Nvidia cards anything from the Geforce FX 5200 up is supported.

Are you looking for a PCI, AGP or PCI-Express card?

Don't get PCI as I think aero requires an agp/pci-e card

If the PCI graphics card met the minimum requirements for Aero I see no reason why it wouldn’t work

I’ve just found a good article on Aero here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Aero
