I've seen this site before. They just seem to be taking everything from the screenshots folder and copying them to their own site. Unfortunately, most of the screenshots are public domain, which means we can't stop them.

No we can't do anything. Like I said, the images are public domain. The copyright does not belong to anyone.

We can't. As I have said several times.

The images are public domain and the copyright does not belong to anyone. Therefore we cannot request the images be removed.

Gillian is a late-OSBA era Chicago fanatic, he added a number of screenshots to ClassicBeta and seems to have made a comeback. He might still be a member here, either way, I wouldn't try to annoy him with "good will" type takedown messages.

I've noticed one of the images says
"Gillian"
"osbetaarchive.com"
Nice little link back
And "Windows 98 codename Memphis Screenshots Centre @ BETAArchive.co.uk"

The images are public domain, like Andy said. Any nuggets who think you can threaten a takedown notice need to be quiet and just not suggest anything.

However, it's very nice that they linked back. It's allways the proper thing to do if you use material from another site (it's just like citing your sources).

(PS: I don't believe you can copyright screenshots of other people's software for your own site. I can easily copyright a screenshot of Swift because, I'm the author. However, I don't think I can copyright a screenshot of Windows XP or MSWord 2003 because I didn't write it.

I could be wrong, however, I don't believe in the licensing policies of screenshots on Wikipedia, because people license screenshots of software that they didn't write, and may not necessarily have access to legally (via an EULA of end user software or BETA's).

My 2c on screenshot licensing.
