Blu-Ray drive help

Post by ___ »

Today I got the Blu-ray drive I ordered (Pioneer BDC-S02BK) and I seem to be having problems with it (I have since read on the internet that it has problems with a lot of motherboards), however even though I plug the power into the drive I should still be able to press the button on the front and open it shouldn't I or does it have to be detected by the BIOS first?

you should be able to open the drive as soon as you turn on the computer.

Try unplugging the data connection (with the computer off), but leave the power plugged in. Turn on your computer and then push the button. If it opens, its a problem with your computer, however if it doesn't, its most likely a drive problem, IMO.
