I'm looking for an electronic kit that I can use to record a 10-second sound in reasonably high quality (well, 22050hz and above) and then play it back at the push of a button. Anyone know where I might find something like this?

Check out http://www.talkingproducts.co.uk/talking_labels.htm, they seem to do what you need... http://www.talkingproducts.co.uk/talking_cards.htm for shorter recording times (page contains link to the datasheet).

If you're looking for more expensive, high-end stuff you might want to look at a digital sampler.
