I traded for a kds lcd monitor. When unplugged and then plugged it wont work until it is plugged in for a few hours, or I can turn it off then on and it works breifly then off again.
Can this be easily fixed?

Sounds like a bad transformer/capacitor. It CAN be fixed, but the effort/cost would be, to me, not worth it.

Sounds like a bad trade.

That COULD be a bad inverter...several monitors at my work have the same issue....these are easily replaced, however, it depends on the price that the monitor is worth now... if it's a 20-24", I'd say drop the $100 it takes to get a new inverter...if it's a 15"-19", you're better off either trying a soldering iron or replacing the monitor altogether.
