Hey all,

I am simply looking for a reputable place to purchase some Dual Layer DVDs online. Using Froogle and Pricewatch, just about every vendor had terrible ratings, usually due to selling defective media. I just want to buy some and know it works (like picking up a spindle of Memorex at walmart), without the gouging of a retail outlet.

Thanks.

Depending on where you live, you can find a computer specific store closest to you that has a wider range of Blank media.... around where I live, two places I like the most are Fry's and Microcenter, both having options for in-store and online purchases alike. The best choice is to find a place with the most brands and selections so you can choose for yourself the quality vs. price ratio. Walmart only has two or three brands that I know of, and pricewatch is just a hassle because you have to look up all sorts of ratings and reviews....more than half the time the cheaper places suck, but every now and then you'll find a good, reputable place with low prices. If all else fails, try Newegg (9.9/10) :-)

The GuangHua computer market in Taipei would be the best choice for me, but not you (remember the shipping fare and international payment.)

In fact the stability of DL is still not high enough. Defective discs might also happen on famous brands- only with lower rate.

I recommend Melody (if you can find them). This brand is cheap but very stable.

I buy my media from a guy who sells at the local market... never bought DL discs, but no doubt he's probably got some. So yeah, check markets. :)
