Opera is now offically the most retarded browser...

Post by compact-mac »

... I have ever used. It makes me love IE. In fact, I would sooner use IE.

I was posting a reply to my network topic, I had just finished the post, it took me a while to write... then BOOM! It was gone I had right clicked to bring up the simple cut-copy-paste menu. I got a page called "Opera:Bad URL". That was the second time I had entered that post. Before my blog went, I had ranted about this before. You may imagine, I am not in a good mood where Computers are concerned. After all:

Opera: Retarded
Webhost: Dead
Computer: Slow
Network: Not working
Brother: Nagging me to fix his problems, my mum says she knows I can but can't be bothered, but I cannot. I said reformat? Nope. He didn't want to loose files.

I now hate opera. Too many shortcuts, too many features, where on earth is this famous IRC chat and the Mail? No simple menu or button I can see.

Sometimes, simple ways are the best. Where opera is concerned, IT NEEDS TO LOOSE WEIGHT. CUSTOMIZABLE? MY ASS!

This has now been posted from good old FireFox. For a while.

I am not a fanboy. I am just ranting with my points.

I still think OE loads faster than any other browsers I used. Thats't why i'm still using IE7.

Opera, as far as I personally is concerned, is far superior in SOME ASPECTS to any other browsers I've tried. The builtin "start with all my tabs" is GREAT (saves me HEAPS of time trying to reember what sites I've been on before I closed it), builtin download manager which is, IMO, far superior to Firefox's, the mail and IRC can be configured to work the exact way you want them....

However, I'm using Opera and Firefox about 50/50 nowadays, as most forums I goto works just fine in Opera, while the more website-ish stuff which doesn't have a forum included, seems to work better with Firefox.

Only thing I use IE for is WinUpdate... and I'm not too keen on using it even for that :lol

However.

Each to their own devices. I personally absolutely LOVE Opera, other's hate it. For myself, I have no intention of replacing it with anything anytime soon

I'm not keen on opera, and currently use SeaMonkey, as Firefox is too unstable now. I can't wait for apple to get Safari for Windows stable now, because it is fast and, although there are no add-ons or themes, it doesn't really need them (except an Adblock-like extension would be nice). Safari is a great browser, just needs the bugs tackling. And when that happens, i'll probably switch to it.

i have opera.. but i never use it
firefox works almost everywhere anyway...
and it's more customizable
and it doesn't randomly screw up or do something you don't want it to.. or at least not that much..
plus the name...
FIREFOX sounds way cooler then opera...

IRC Chat? Type irc.*.* in the address bar. CM, you haven't figured out mouse gestures yet, have you? After you start using them, you'll never go back. Trust me.

I do too!

VPC says it needs MSXML when it has worked before. Net folders dony work. FPS creator says it needs DX9 whereas BFII, a game also nneeding it works OK.

Virus?

Definitely one of the two (virus/spyware). Download AVG FREE and update it and let it scan your hard drive. It usually picks up most of them. Its what we use at work and has a 99% success rate

I've used opera a few times, but I went back to Firefox. I think Firefox is one of the best browsers, but that's only my opinion.

What I like about Opera is that you could view its cache content in Tools/Advanced/Cache and save one or more after playing YouTube vids.
