Oops. The Consumerist took a machine to the Geek Squad equipped with screen recording software which recorded everything the Agent did. Apart from installing iTunes (what he was supposed to do, and charged $30 for. LOL), they caught him copying a few, ehm, interesting pictures (giggidy giggidy!) to his USB stick.

just one more reason why i store everything that could be classified as personal is stored on several flash drives i own. When i want to access them, i insert the flash drive and away i go- no worrying about accessing them off the hd when i send the computer back for repairs

my Dell is in a warranty i dont want to break (i paid extra, lol) and i dont fix anything wrong in it myself and I also use screen-monitoring software when i send my computers back to the manufacturers

I small short story :
- one year before, i was working for my school in a center of formation.

There were many students here, and I was the technical manager but I was 2 or 3 years minor than them. One day, I was assuming a formation on Windows 2003 server and a girl bring to me her broken laptop. After the formation, I check the computer and i notices some viruses, but nothing else. So, I installed AVG antivirus, a reboot and the computer was ok.
The next day, while I was assuming the formation, I forget the laptop. It was still working on my desk, and there was the "Slide show picture" of Windows XP. Some pictures of parties, etc .. A man (45years old) asked to me a question about the NTFS partition. Behind be, the computer was showing "privates pictures" like "her on the beach(nude)", "her in the swiming pool(nude)" and "her on a sofa(nude)" .... The guy was not listen to me, I stoped the computer but two days after, she bring back and when I give her the computer, I said that she should not use the slideshow. She laught, and she offers to me a café

... My girlfriend tried to kill me when I tell her the story...

In all Consumer services that I've worked with, all guys tried to find porno or privates pictures.

But, some years ago, when I was on the college, I was storing private pictures on my computer. A friend of me was intresting on art picture, and she took a lot of nude girls pictures or of herself (she was a gothic). She was not computer addicted, so my job was to resize and correct gama of the pictures on my laptop in school(it was a very old laptop, 233Mhz in 2004). One day, I lent the computer to a shcool mate to copy a school project, and he searched for pictures in my computer. He opened her folder in class, the teacher was behind him ... and the girl was in the classroom. The teacher was shocked, The school mate was very embarrassed and my friend and me were laughing ;-)
