Church Website. Help / Opinions Wanted

Post by hougtimo »

Hi,

I have recently been given the job of creating and maintaining our Church's website. The original website is still at http://www.holy-trinity.org.uk/ which I think is utter crap.

What I have developed is here : http://www.holytrinityhull.co.uk which has been pretty easy so far.

Basically I want opinions on the site layout, design and whether it is easy to use or not. I welcome contructive critisicm as well as suggestions for what you think should be on it.

I know there are a couple of dead links in places, but I'm working on it.

Thanks

Looks like an excellent site. Very easy to use with the navigation at the top. Nice looking too as well as quite "simple". Nothing too complex to go wrong. 9/10 from me.

Nice design, very clean and usable which is important. Only thing I didn't like was it seemed that the scrolling marquee was going a little fast, but that might just be me. Very good work a 9/10 as well.

Lol, I know.

Thats the offering from the 'official' website person at our church. So I showed them what could be done...and then they appointed me

Loving the misspelling of Trinity too. Which they refuse to fix "because it takes too long"

LOL

Not bad. Need to make those links at the top into tabs, and make them highlight on mouseover.

The scrolling marque is tacky and broken. It gets to the end then jumps back to the beginning vs scrolling/wrapping the whole way through.

The original looks bad in Opera, the new one is just fine for me.

Yeah, the original's header text at the top (the big letters) is cut off in Camino. Does it work in Firefox? (if it does, I'm assuming it's Mac fonts or something)
