The apocalypse is coming..

Post by kichimi »

I couldn't believe it. I went out today to PC world with the soul intention of breaking the shiny new vista pcs...anyways, i got the the 15th pc, i deleted alot of pretty important regestry keys, restarted it, looked up to see the back of...a intel iMac.

Yes, thats right, PC World, a company in the UK thats well known for its devotion to selling PC's and PC equipment. selling macs.

Where is the logic people?

I was horrified, anyone else feel this way?

I will post pictures soon. (when i find my bluetooth adapter )

What's wrong with selling Macs? They are in fact PCs anyway, the only difference between them and the other PCs in PC World is that they have EFI firmware instead of the old-fashioned BIOS of the other PCs, and they have a built-in Trusted Platform Module. You can get Macs in a lot of places now, I think even some Tesco stores have them.

Yes, I heard that Tesco were going to start selling them in some of their stores, at least in the UK. Presumably only the larger branches though, probably the very large "Extra" ones - they are also available to order online here.

Well as I said, the Intel Macs are PCs What is a PC? It stands for Personal Computer, but even if you take it to mean something with an Intel-compatible CPU or something that can run Microsoft Windows natively, which is the popular definition of a PC today, then a Mac is still a PC.

Yes but traditionally computers made by Apple, that run Mac OS are known as 'Macs' they may run Windows but they're still macs, you dont see many PCs running Mac OS Natively without some serious hacking anyway

Dvorak, is that you?

Also, Shrimp: Apple created the first PC yes, but the "real" PC is the IBM PC. And what Apple is really saying is that Windows sucks, not the PC.
(Yes, I know that you probably knew that, sorry for ruining your joke.)

The first PC was the Altair 8800. The Apple 1 was second.

Why bring this up now? PC world has been selling Macs for years. I don't see how you have never noticed.
