It's a common dispute after installing IE7 on XP SP2: Windows Movie Maker crashes after two seconds of launch time. Why? The file QEDIT.DLL seems to provoke the crash.

Now, I'm not stupid, but where I can get this update?

Qedit.dll 6.5.2600.2975

Microsoft is not letting me download it off their support page because it should either downloaded automatically, or unless I contact them about Daylight Savings Time or whatever. I have the following installed:

Qedit.dll 6.5.2600.2180

I can't uninstall IE7 either. Thus, I need that updated DLL file. It was installed with DirectX as well. It will be until November when I can use iMovie on a Mac, but I need this movie maker program now. Any tips? :?

I can upload it.

I keep getting an error. "Wrong password." :(

Also, the error signature for WMM reads:

Code:
AppName: moviemk.exe    AppVer: 2.1.4026.0    ModName: qedit.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180    Offset: 0001b2af
