As my home network is temporally unsecured I just caught someone using it who shouldn't be.
Is there anyway I can trace who it is out of curiosity. I'm not bothered as I use unsecured ones.
Thanks

You can probably get their mac address but thats about it. You wouldn't be able to trace them to much extent.

You should enable WEP encryption and MAC filtering to keep people out and you should never temporaly disable it.

Could I just use Mac Control?
It was disabled because I was having problems with connecting with my Vista laptop.

You could yes but then there is the risk of someone brute forcing the mac address, just as they would the WEP key. Its best to have both as it generally puts them off. If you feel safe using one without the other then go for it.

Well, if they are determined to get in they probably will.
They won't find much though.

I'd not use WEP anymore because the key can be cracked/found out rather quickly. I'd only use WPA or WPA2 for now. The MAC filter is probably not going to do much because it's quite easy to fake these addresses, unfortunately.

They're quite easy to fake, but getting the mac to begin with is the hard part without brute forcing.

You could unsecure the network again, wait for them to use it again, and look outside for suspicious cars and people with laptops.
