"Ring, Ring," Sounds the phone at the 24 hour computer help desk.

"Hello, what can I help you with?"

"My cupholder won't open on my computer!"

"Sir, there is no cupholder on computers."

"What are you talking about? I use it every day!
All I have to do is push the little button and it opens up, but
today it didn't open for me, and it sounds like there is tons of
water in it!"

"Sir, are you talking about the CD drive?"

What's a CD drive?"

"It's a drive that has a small place to put CDs."
"Have you been using the CD drive as a cupholder?"

"So that's what that is..."

(This is a true story, lol)

Never seen mine close down automatically either, they stay open until I press their button or power-cycle them...

never met any that do that, though I sometimes wish they did... I have a nasty habit of burning a disc, ejecting it, writing on it and forgetting to close the drive... then spinning round and standing up which catches my leg on the CD tray, almost ripping it out the drive and jumping the computer half an inch or so :(

Good old joke.... :)
Though I've heard that years ago...

btw my dad had a bad habit using burners...He often forget to push it back after eject....And I have to hint him every time "Don't left a cupholder there!"

Likely my dad's doesn't :?
EDIT: Neither do mines.

Anyway I've got a short clip related with this joke...Just need some time searching for it in my CDs and find a place to upload...
