If you don't like windows live movie maker, or you just want the normal moviemaker in windows 7, you can use this.

1. Download moviemaker 2.6 for vista, from microsoft
2. Rightclick on the file, properties, compatibility, and choose for windows vista
3. run the setup

There is Windows Movie Maker!

I haven't found any bugs so far.

Here is Movie Maker 6.0 from vista:
Download Windows Movie Maker (x86) here: http://www.mediafire.com/?giynywi0zke or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QQX1UNJU
download Windows Movie Maker (x64) here: http://www.mediafire.com/?nmja5qzjgmf or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZPBJWK71

1. Copy Movie Maker to %programfiles%.
2. Run register DLLs.bat as administrator.

Unfortunately, moviemaker 2.6 zeehonden_3 said lack some features included in the default vista version. Here is the full version not the strip down version.

What I did was just copy the Movie Maker dir from a Vista install and I just ran the program from within, and it works fine.

Just make sure you register the dls.
Open command prompt:
"%programfiles%\Movie Maker\MOVIEMK.exe" /RegServer
regsvr32 /s "%programfiles%\Movie Maker\pipeline.dll"
regsvr32 /s "%programfiles%\Movie Maker\wmm2ae.dll"
regsvr32 /s "%programfiles%\Movie Maker\wmm2clip.dll"
regsvr32 /s "%programfiles%\Movie Maker\wmm2ext.dll"
regsvr32 /s "%programfiles%\Movie Maker\wmm2filt.dll"
regsvr32 /s "%programfiles%\Movie Maker\videomediahandler.dll"

Yes, I heard about this a while back and saved my movie maker folder from vista. It now works fine on 7, i prefer using the vista version since it blends well with windows 7. Its also a lot better than the Live version.
