Pencil is a Firefox extension for GUI sketching, but it also has a feature to send a page snapshot to a document, saved as PNG along with the document.

1. Open Pencil (Tools > Pencil Sketching...)
2. Save the newly created document somewhere convenient
3. Back to Firefox, open the desired page
4. Hit Tools > Send page to Pencil document... and select the document you've created.

5. Back to Pencil, save the document.
6. You can now delete the .ep file.
7. You can see a PNG snapshot in the folder you saved the .ep file.

You can also press PrtScn on you keyboard, paste it into word or programs like Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop, cut it there into the right shape, and save it.

Or in vista using the snipping tool.

That goes a bit faster, i think :P

I use FastStone Capture as my main PrtSc, which includes a scrolling screenshot feature.

A really great tool for taking screenshots in firefox is FireShot:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5648

It allows to take screenshots of whole web pages (not only the visible area).

btw, I know this topic is quite old, but I think that suggestion could be useful to someone

Pretty useful tool! Should come in handy for my web designing and testing for friends. I used to just take a normal screenshot and paste into paint for saving but this makes it so much easier :)

Snagit for me. A bit more complicated than the snipping tool but it can, among other things, capture scrolled screens.

You need to buy it, but give the demo a whirl
