This Tutorial will show you how you can Upgrade from Chicago 99 and lower to 122 and you get CD-ROM (if installed in the Chicago), tested in VMware and works on Chicago 99 (I did try it on 73g, works too) to 122.

1. Make it sure you have CD-ROM Driver, example here:

2. Open the MS-DOS Prompt and create in C:\ a new Directory with <Your Name> (I choose Setup):

3. Copy all files from D:\*.* to C:\<Directory>

4. Shut down Chicago:

5. Do restart and Press F8 instant when are Showing "Starting Windows"

6. Do press Everything with Yes Except WIN, there a N and run setup from D:\

7. When setup are Say can't upgrade in C:\WIndows, press yes for continue for Directory C:\Windows.000

8. Then let run it as you do, and Choose Custom with All components and (IMPORTANT!) add TCP/IP Protocol

9. Then Fill in the Standard user Informations:

10. After reboot you need wait only around 30 Seconds, then there are the Message with DHCP/IP message, press no. Give a Username and Password. Wait for the modem, there do cancel. On Printer chosse one and let it copy. Too see for CD-ROM, open My Computer. Also, you can than delete TCP/IP because the Message are every time coming when press no.

Technically what you're doing is a clean install in a different folder, as stated by the 7th step.

Half correct, you can lösen the CD-Rom driver.
