After having a hard time trying to get my Mac online via my Bluetooth phone's data connection, i.e. by using the phone as a modem, which constantly failed because the modem scripts weren't working, I finally found
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/
which offers multiple modem scripts for several mobile phones and also several generic ones, these are working fine with my LG KE850 phone. To use these, just expand the archive, drop the scripts into /Library/Modem Scripts, go into System Preferences -> Network -> Bluetooth -> Configure -> Bluetooth Modem and select the script from the list. That should do it.
