Anything checked :P
Well, I noticed that the Pan-Euro version of Win95 on Andy's server was an upgrade (when i tested it). I tried everything to remove the upgrade portion, but failed and was about to give up when I remembered that setup only looks for two files: win.com and winver.exe .

So I entered these commands

1)
Code:
md c:\windows

2)
Code:
extract /a /l c:\windows win95_02.cab win.cnf

(no, win.cnf is NOT a typo, win.cnf = win.com)
3)
Code:
extract /a /l c:\windows win95_02.cab winver.exe

4)
Code:
ren c:\windows\win.cnf win.com

I then ran Win95 Setup with /is for no scandisk. Setup started, went past the license agreement and straight into the wizard without anything to do with file checking.

[offtopic] (Oh and BTW, I ran my win95 amd/p4 patch on it after first part of setup but before it booted into windows. It booted into windows, did the 2nd part of setup... and the patch stopped working after the reboot. I run the patch again, but nothing came of it. So I do not recommend installing the Win95 'Pan-Euro Edition' on an AMD/P4 PC with the patch that comes with HyperOS.) [/offtopic]

Very clever, reminds me of the 'Upgrading to Vista from Vista trial' workaround that was posted here: http://www.lockergnome.com/nexus/gwhicks/2007/02/16/use-vista-upgrade-cd-for-a-clean-install-then-extend-the-30-day-limit-to-120/

On any of the Win95 builds be it beta or retail, If you extract the gdi.exe
from the mini.cab & put it on your boot floppy It'll also allow for a clean
install...
When setup gets to the part where it asks for validation, just lead it to the
A:\ drive, setup then commences, I've done it about 2 dozen times this
last couple of months whilst updating the screenshots here on the forum...

Ha ha. So you can use the gdi.exe used as a dosx component to do it aswell? Very funny. [For those who dont know what dosx is, it's everything in the mini.cab and is used as a minimal W3.1 shell to run W9x/ME Setup...]

Hmm. Try KenOath's method of
Code:
extract /a /l c:\windows mini.cab gdi.exe
.

That always worked for him on betas Gillian.
